Two photographs, both taken by 19-year-old Andrew Ho, were tied in second place. Come fly with me was commended in particular for the definition of the mountains in the background, while Welcome to Hogwarts won praise for it vibrant colour contrasts. Andrew has been with us before, having claimed second place in December with his take on the theme "Illuminated Europe".
Third place went to competition new-comer James Sutton for Clouded Summer. The image particularly impressed the judges because of its eerie, brooding mood and the way the wind can almost be felt moving the grass. James, who studied photography at the University of Central Lancashire, lives and works in Greater Manchester.
Many congratulations to the three winners and a big thank you everyone who took part. But don't worry if you missed the competition deadline; Europe Through a Lens will be back with a new theme for March / April very soon!
